The Group, with 165 branches, has worked with Age UK to design its own charity bag scheme. The scheme was trialled in the Thames Valley at the start of 2019 and 1,333 bags – equivalent to £19,995 – collected and donated to Age UK’s shops in just five months. Now the Group pledges to raise £100,000, encouraging its strong branch network, and its extensive client base, to get involved.

Vanessa Foot, Culture and Community Manager, said, “We were delighted with the funds raised from our Age UK charity bag trial last year – and we are excited to see how well the scheme will run in 2020.

“It’s not just our customers getting involved, though. Our employees are key contributors to the charity bag scheme too, and are looking forward to getting stuck in to this year’s efforts.”
