The acquisitional march of industry giant the Leaders Romans Group (LRG) continues with the addition of two high-profile independent estate agencies in London, taking its total to eight this year.

These are West London firm Orchards of London (pictured) and Brentford agency Thorgills, both of which have a single office but considerable local reach.

The acquisitions, which together with six other purchases this year, add a total of 28 new branches and 370 staff to the LRG network.

This includes the recent addition of 15-branch Portico.

Orchards of London is a 12-year-old lettings and sales business covering Ealing, Chiswick, Acton and Shepherds Bush, while Thorgills was established by Ben Madden  in 2008; growing to become one of the top three agencies in Brentford.

Ben Madden, Director of Thorgills, comments: “After receiving significant interest from several buyers, we decided to move forward with LRG due to their impressive track record of acquiring businesses and helping them continue to grow, whilst retaining the existing culture of the business.”

Paul Connolly (pictured), Group CEO of Orchards of London, adds: “The sale of the Orchards of London business will now enable me to concentrate all of my time, energy and resources on The Hogarth Property Group, in particular our property development activities via our design, build and construction company.

The estate agency recently embraced hybrid working, moving to a centralised off-the-high-street office after closing most of its branches.

Matthew Light, Group Mergers and Acquisitions Director at LRG, says: “We are delighted to have completed the acquisitions of both Orchards of London and Thorgills. They are great companies with knowledgeable teams who we are looking forward to welcoming into the LRG family.”
