LSL continues huge push to take more of mortgage market
The agency giant acquires its biggest buy-to-let specialist as it drive to secure more of the mortgage brokerage business.
Agency titan LSL has stepped up its efforts to grab more of the mortgage brokerage market by acquiring another independent.
This time LSL has bought mortgage specialist company The Buy To Let Broker, based in Southport.
The acquisition is by Pivotal Growth, the joint venture LSL set up in April last year with City firm Pollen Street Capital as part of the firm’s attempts to take more of both the lucrative mortgage and insurance business.
The Buy To Let Broker, which was founded in 2013, is one of the largest buy-to-let mortgage broker operations in the country.
In May, LSL bought The Loan Partnership (TLP), which was the third purchase after the acquisitions of Lifetime Finance Group and Grange Mortgage and Protection Services. TLP is a specialist mortgage broker, based in Hemel Hempstead, that was also set up in 2013, and focuses on providing mortgage advice for second charge mortgages and bridging finance.
Specialist expertise

LSL operates a dozen national and regional estate agencies including Your Move and Reeds Rains plus a range of surveying and financial services platforms.
