EXCLUSIVE: Ambitious estate agency launches from converted garage

Seager & Shea is a new property business operating in Essex and East London, with plans to expand and open offices within a year.

Run from a garage conversion, a new two-man estate agency has been launched in Essex and East London.

Seager & Shea is a fledgling business with ambitions to become a major player in land and residential sales, with lettings and property management offers as well.

The partnership of Matthew Seager, a former Haart regional sales manager, and marketing professional Stevie Shea, has achieved a £200K pipeline of deals just five months after starting up. The company also has 15 sale boards dotted around.

Seager set up MJS Property in March and later established Seager & Shea once the partnership was agreed. He runs his side of the firm from a converted garage in Brentwood, while Shea also works from home.

They hope to open an office employing another two members of staff within a year, and be able to boast a £600k pipeline, with plans for another office later on. The strategy is to cover the whole of Essex and East London, with a small amount of business in Kent and possibly Surrey.

Turning heads

“We are turning heads and people are approaching us. I have brokered some big land deals over the last couple of days,” says Seager (pictured right).

“Every estate agency waits for business to come to them, but you have to go out there and door knock,” he says.

Shea (pictured left) is looking after the marketing of the business, an arrangement the pair say helps to make them ‘recession-proof’ as this keeps the costs down. He has ensured the firm has an active presence on social media, including Facebook, Instagram and LinkedIn.

They have a licence for a drone to produce aerial property pictures, and Seager is able to take professional standard photographs.
