What winning at The Negotiator Awards meant to us
A year has passed since we won the title of Lettings Agency of the Year (12+ branches) at the Negotiator Awards – and what a year it has been! We’ve expanded into east London and Essex and grown our team significantly, launched a new Airbnb Management Service, Portico Host, and expanded our Handyman Services. What impact did the Negotiator Award win have? “Winning Large Lettings Agency of the Year at the Negotiator Awards was a fantastic endorsement of much hard work from our ever-growing team. The award recognised the high level of customer service we provide for our landlords, and it has certainly increased our credibility to prospective clients.” Fiona Patterson, Marketing Director, Portico London estate agents. The publicity and exposure from the Awards has also been fantastic for brand awareness and spreading the word about our unique lettings packages. In fact, our brand spontaneous awareness has increased significantly and we have welcomed a whopping 400,000 unique visitors to our website – clearly the Portico word is spreading! On top of this, valuations have increased across the board – so it’s been a really great year for the business. Open for entries now! The UK’s premier property industry awards are…

Portico, which was launched in 2015 and replaced existing brands Edmund Cude and Bushells, says there are now 48,017 active Airbnb hosts in London and that the average two-bedroom flat there generates £2,226 a month based on a 70% occupancy rates. Portico claims its service will be able to achieve even higher occupancy rates for clients of up to 80%, and that landlords can expect to receive a booking within a week of listing on the site. Average day rates for Airbnb properties in London range from £65 a day in Bexley to £224 a day in Westminster. Portico is stepping into controversial waters – many agents and city housing professionals see Airbnb as a threat to supply within the existing private rental market, and several councils including Westminster have made their…
