A crowdfunding round by tenants platform Findingaplace.com has been oversubscribed raising £310,000 from 350 investors, some £60,000 more than it had originally set out to obtain.

Raised on crowdfunding platform Seedrs, two-thirds of the capital raised will go towards growing the team as well as raising consumer awareness, with the remaining funding directed towards platform development to further enhance both the customer journey as well as agency partner features.

The money raised, which represents a 16% equity stake in the firm, values it at £1.5 million.

But raising funds via Seedrs is no guarantee of success – other companies to have raised cash via the crowdfunding platform have included eMoov, Howsy and GuestReady.]

Matchmakes

Findingaplace.com is a website that ‘matchmakes’ prospective tenants to their ideal properties in terms of price, location and size and is designed to bring letting agents and renters together without the need for a portal by ensuring properties are available before they are sent via email alert to its registered users.

The platform launched in London last spring and the new money will also support its ambition to go national and even internationally in the medium to long term.

Its platform is gaining traction. Over the past nine months, some 22,000 tenants have registered as have hundreds of agents including several high profile agencies such as Winkworth, Benham & Reeves, Belvoir and Fine & Country.

mike savva“We’re thrilled to have not only reached – but far exceeded our funding target, validating our longstanding belief that there is better way to connect tenants and agents together,” says Mike Savva, Founder of Findingaplace.com (pictured).

“More new property portals aren’t the answer to the disappointment renters experience; in-fact the increasing number of portals actually exasperates the issue. Renters are looking for an alternative and smarter way. Findingaplace is their solution.”
