New platform offers access to Rightmove and Zoopla, cutting out agents – for £9.99!

A new “self-serve property platform” called ‘Agreed‘ has launched and is offering private sellers and landlords, direct access to Rightmove, Zoopla and Prime Location.

Users of the platform are already listing and have been writing “rave reviews” of their experience. Agreed is saying that the three portals “are allowing private homeowners to entirely cut out estate agents and directly list property on their sites.”

This, however, appears to be without the knowledge of the portals.

A press release from Agreed, said, “In a UK first, a new self-serve property platform is empowering people to sell and let their properties directly on the major property portals, Rightmove, Zoopla and PrimeLocation, for just £9.99 a week, saving them thousands of pounds in the process.

“Users of Agreed.co.uk can professionally value, present, list, market, negotiate and sell or let their properties themselves, without paying a penny in commission to online or high street estate agents – more important than ever amid the cost of living crisis.

“The platform offers sellers and landlords a unique alternative to the traditional route of selling or letting via high street or online estate agents. It is estate agent-free, commission-free and contract-free.”

The platform claims to have been in beta testing for a year “completing due diligence and fine tuning its technology” which suggests it may not have the blessing of the portals but could be complying with their terms and conditions, as they stand.

However when asked what they know about Agreed, which appears to be at total odds with their business model, a spokesperson for Rightmove said, “All prospective customers go through a strict vetting process and they must give evidence that they provide an estate agency service to consumers in keeping with UK industry legislation, including the CPRs. If they are found not to be carrying out actual estate agency services then their membership will be reviewed immediately.”

A spokesperson for Zoopla says Agreed is listed on their site as an agent – and said this, “All agents have to follow our member guidelines when listing properties on Zoopla. Agents who are highlighted to us as potentially failing to do so will be investigated as part of our internal compliance procedure and face a variety of potential measures including the removal of their ability to list properties on the site.”

The founder of Agreed is Charles Eddlestone (pictured), who set up the company in September 2019. Before this he was a sales and lettings manager at Fine & Country.

Announcing the launch, he said,  “Our platform puts the power back into the hands of sellers and landlords, enabling them to rapidly liaise and negotiate with prospective buyers and tenants in real time rather than wait for estate agents to report back, which feels positively archaic in the digital age.

“There’s no need to worry about the negotiating part, either, as that can be done through the Agreed site, too. Importantly, people can pay and cancel their subscription to the portals at any time, which is more important than ever with inflation so high.

“The sellers who have used Agreed.co.uk so far have all written rave reviews and on the back of that we’ve now extended into lettings, too.”
