SBK auctioneer wins King's Coronation Medal - Matt BurrowsWhen he’s not wielding the gavel and presiding over an in-room or online auction, Sheldon Bosley Knight’s property auctioneer, Matt Burrows, can be found volunteering for Hereford and Worcester Army Cadet Force (ACF).

A former officer in the British Army, he has been a Cadet Force Adult Volunteer of the ACF for 16 years and as a result of his dedication, commitment and service, he was one of more than 50 people who were presented with a prestigious King’s Coronation Medal last month.

Matt’s role as Assistant Commandant (Plans) enables him to support and shape the experience of young people through the ACF, helping them develop confidence, resilience and leadership skills which will serve them for life.

Matt said: “Volunteering with the Cadets is both a responsibility and a privilege, and I’m proud to be part of an organisation that makes such a meaningful impact on the next generation.

“It is also a huge part of my life outside my professional career as a property auctioneer. Working alongside like-minded people who are passionate about investing in the next generation is incredibly rewarding.

“The ACF provides young people with unique opportunities they might not otherwise have access to, and I’m proud to play a part in that.”

Proud property peers

Sheldon Bosley Knight custodian, Mike Cleary, added: “Everyone at Sheldon Bosley Knight is absolutely thrilled for Matt. His dedication is second to none, he gives so much to so many people and so this is thoroughly deserved. I am absolutely delighted for him and we send him huge congratulations.”

The King’s Coronation Medal dates back to 1603 when King James I first issued commemorative medals at his coronation. The 2023 Coronation Medal, issued to commemorate the coronation of His Majesty King Charles III, honours those who have made significant contributions to their country. It is awarded to individuals in professional or voluntary roles within public services.
