Big southern estate agency signs up to online auctions
Woolley & Wallis, which itself is a big auctioneer in other sectors, is now offering its residential property clients access to Bamboo Auctions.

A large estate agency in the south of England has begun offering its clients online property auctions as a way to sell their home.
Wooley & Wallis, which has nine branches across Wiltshire, Hampshire & Dorset as well as a London office via its membership of The Guild, is now using Bamboo Auctions.
The estate agency already has significant auction involvement and was set up in 1884 initially as a livestock auctioneer before branching out into many other areas including estate agency.
The Wooley & Wallis residential branch network joins some 1,200 other agency branches using Bamboo Auctions, which gained traction within the sector with its digital, online auctions after many agents sought to sell properties during Covid when both viewings and auctions were suspended.
Other big names using its tech include Bradleys, Stags, Webbers, Fisher German, Carter Jonas, Jackson-Stops, Michael Graham and Hunters.
After the Covid lockdowns ended, many agents stuck with this kind of technology as an easier and cheaper way to sell properties, which has also been increasingly popular among vendors exasperated by the UK’s glacial conveyancing process.
Reputations
Bamboo enables agents to list and manage their own properties for sale by auction and take control of their own service, sales progression and reputations.
“In an ever-changing marketplace we are always looking for ways to diversify our services to remain competitive and online auctions fit in well with this,” says Ben Marshall, Partner, Woolley & Wallis (main image).
“Bamboo Auctions gives us the opportunity to offer our own auction service, retaining full control of our listings, powered by market leading technology.
“Speed, transparency and certainty of sale mean that vendors who have already used the service have been really impressed, with great outcomes for all parties. We look forward to continuing to build on our new auction offering with Bamboo.’’
