Leeds estate agent awarded MBE

Russell Manning, founder of Northern Estate Agencies Group, has been awarded an MBE for services to the Jewish community and charitable causes.

Russell Manning, founder of Northern Estate Agencies Group MBEWell-known property figure, Russell Manning, has been awarded an MBE in the King’s Birthday Honours List for services to the Jewish community and charitable causes.

The Leeds estate agent and founder of Northern Estate Agencies Group is widely known across the property industry, with a career spanning almost five decades.

The honour recognises Russell’s decades of voluntary and charitable work across Leeds and the wider region, including his long-standing involvement with Leeds Jewish Welfare Board, Leeds Jewish Housing Association, the United Hebrew Congregation and Macmillan Cancer Support.

Alongside this, Russell has been the driving force behind Manning Stainton’s long-running support for Macmillan Cancer Support.

Since 2012, the business has raised more than £250,000 for Macmillan through a wide range of fundraising initiatives, including charity golf days, walking and cycling challenges, Coffee Cup Relays, auctions, the Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge and the Paint Leeds Green campaign.

Humbled

Speaking about the honour, Russell Manning MBE, said: “I am incredibly humbled to receive this honour. Leeds has been my home all my life and it has been a privilege to play a part in supporting organisations that mean so much to so many people.

I have been fortunate to work alongside remarkable people who give their time, energy and care to help others.”

“He is very well known for his career in estate agency and for building a business with strong values, but what makes this honour so deserved is the impact he has had far beyond business.”
