105 apartments planned for Manchester

Manchester apartment scheme imageGalliford Try Partnerships, has submitted plans for a £14.2 million, 105-apartment scheme to be built on Princess Road, Manchester, a key arterial road linking to Manchester City Centre. The mixed-tenure homes will offer an exciting alternative to the traditional housing seen within the area.

Designed by Northern Quarter-based architects IDP, the new apartments will provide well-designed housing with the aim of drawing in new and local residents into what is already a very popular neighbourhood.

The building will step in height along Princess Road, creating an interesting streetscape up to a maximum of six storeys. The red brick design will complement the surrounding buildings in a contemporary manner, adding to Manchester’s urban fabric. Pending planning approval, Galliford Try Partnerships will begin work onsite in early 2018, with the development set for completion in summer 2019.

Darren Leary, Development Director at Galliford Try Partnerships, said, “This distinctive scheme will transform this part of the city, provide a high-quality housing offer to the local community and deliver a contemporary and exciting new piece of architecture responding to local character.”
