Apropos, the lettings agency platform being readied for launch by Scottish estate agency DJ Alexander, has promoted two of its senior staff to the fledgling company’s board.
These are its director of operations and chief technical officer Nick Maunder and Matthew Garstang, its finance director.
Apropos says its lettings platform and partner structure means it is set to ‘transform the UK private rental sector’.
“We have created something unique with Apropos and I, and my team, are very proud of what we have achieved,” says Maunder (left).
“I believe that it will be seen as innovative, unique, and a vanguard of the way property platforms develop in the future.”
Apropos employs 31 staff and has been trialling the service in Scotland but soon plans to launch nationally next year; the wider DJ Alexander organisation in Edinburgh employs 170 staff.
It has already signed up partners in Manchester, Liverpool, Reading, Leeds and Newcastle and has 44% of London covered too.
“David and John Alexander have fantastic plans for the development of their company and recognise that if you stand still in any business environment you invariably fall behind,” says Garstang.
“Their approach to growing Apropos by DJ Alexander is innovative and exciting and, I believe, will be welcomed by the marketplace.”
Apropos offers letting agents the opportunity to work for themselves without any set-up costs and includes training, business support, marketing and referrals as part of the service. It is free to use for agents except that Apropos takes a percentage of the commission earned from landlords.
