Hybrid estate agency Strike has launched its service nationally after months of testing its service in several regional market, principally in and around Manchester and other parts of the North.

Its controversial free-to-use service, which generates revenue via referrals to third-party suppliers of conveyancing and mortgages, is now being rolled out nationally.

Strike claims it is the fastest-growing estate agency and that it now has boots on the ground all over the UK offering the traditional range of agency services.

This includes valuation, photography, floorplans, negotiations and sales progression, alongside the existing virtual offering.

The agency has also revealed some of its business performance data including that it’s helped 56,681 people move home and that it has the fastest sales sale progression out of the top ten estate agencies at 40 days.

Its nationwide launch is being supported by a major TV, radio, poster, print and online marketing campaign with a particular focus on London channels and spaces.

And the national rollout will focus on London, the South West, the South East, and East of England with all areas of the UK now offered the free service.

Sam Mitchell, its CEO (pictured), says: “From day one, we’ve seen the potential of Strike being unleashed across the North of England. The power of our free proposition has quickly catapulted us into one of largest agents in the UK — and now we’re doubling our geographical coverage by taking free to London and nationwide.

“Since our last funding round, we’ve continued to invest in technology to provide a seamless selling experience. We’re confident we’ll be the obvious choice for anyone looking to sell this year who wants a stress-free experience with a straightforward platform that puts them in control alongside a team of experts and incredible support.

“We’re here for anyone who wants a fantastic service that also happens to be completely, truly free.”

£11 million

Strike has been able to fund the huge expansion of its business through an £11 million investment by VC funds, corralled by the firm’s chairman Alexander Gosling, including cash from Freston Ventures, Tosca fund, SPW One and Channel 4.

Vinay Solanki, Head of Channel 4 Ventures, adds: “We’re excited to support Strike’s nationwide launch following its success in the north as they continue to shake up the sector and revolutionise how people move home.We hope that access to airtime across Channel 4’s influential TV and digital channel portfolio will provide a powerful platform for Strike’s new national advertising campaign and enable them to reach more sellers across the UK and significantly scale their business through increased brand awareness.”
