Michael Bruce’s new stake in Purplebricks confirmed
Official documents now list Michael Bruce among persons of significant control of Purplebricks parent brand Strike Limited.

Companies House documents have confirmed that Purplebricks founder Michael Bruce has taken a new stake in his former business.
Bruce returned to the brand in June after being named as a director at Strike Limited.
Official documents at Companies House have now listed him as a person of significant control.
It suggests he owns more than 25% but not more than 50% of equity in the brand.
Other persons of significant control listed include Sir William Dunstone and his Freston Ventures investment arm.
The Bruce comeback
Bruce (pictured) was previously chief executive of Purplebricks, but left in 2019 amid the brand’s deteriorating financial performance and concerns about its international expansion, which have since been scaled back.
His return comes after Strike’s takeover of Purplebricks for just £1, which led to the company exiting the stock market.
The Strike brand was later retired and now trades under the Purplebricks name.
A Purplebricks spokesperson and Bruce have been approached for comment.
Meanwhile, Companies House documents show both Purplebricks and Strike’s annual accounts for the year to the end of March 2025 remain overdue.
Both brands were meant to file accounts by 24th June.
Companies House usually issues a striking off notice as part of a formal warning if a company’s account are overdue. There is no sign of this yet and no suggestion of wrongdoing.
A spokesperson for Purplebricks said last month that the accounts have been delayed due to the appointment of a new chief financial officer and will be filed shortly.
