Dawsons Estate Agents rides to restart hearts
Swansea estate agency, Dawsons, launches October fundraising campaign with a three-branch cycling challenge on Restart a Heart Day.
Dawsons Estate Agents is bringing together its teams and the wider Swansea community this October to raise funds and awareness for life-saving defibrillators as part of Agents Giving’s Great British Property Cycle 2026.
The campaign has an unusual starting point. It followed a message in a WhatsApp group from fellow fundraiser and industry trainer, Stephen Brown, who had recently used a defibrillator in his local community, helping to save someone’s life. He challenged the property industry to do more to improve access to life-saving equipment.
With Dawsons already working closely with Heartbeat Trust UK, and Swansea having been recognised as the UK’s first Defibrillator Friendly City, the idea quickly gathered momentum.
Restart a Heart Day
On Friday 16th October, Dawsons will put two static bikes into three of its branches and invite local people to help cycle as many miles as possible while raising funds and awareness.
The bikes will be at Llanelli from 9am to 11am, Mumbles from 12pm to 2pm and then Marina from 3pm to 5pm.
Local businesses, sporting clubs, rugby and football teams, community groups and familiar local faces are being invited to take part, with Dawsons hoping to create a “who’s going to turn up next?” atmosphere throughout the day.
The wider Great British Property Cycle challenge aims to help provide participating agents with a multi-trauma box for their local community, helping increase access to emergency equipment.
Dawsons previously worked with Melanie James, former High Sheriff, and Heartbeat Trust UK to train its teams in defibrillator and critical bleed kit awareness and support bleed kits in the community in 2024.
The agency has set an initial fundraising target of £500, with an ambition to reach £1,000 during October and ultimately support greater access to publicly available defibrillators in the communities it serves.
