From SAFEagent to Malawi…
The Chair of the SAFEagent Steering Group, John Midgley, has been in Malawi, building homes for orphans.
John and his team from Touchstone are working with Habitat for Humanity for the next three years, to provide homes for vulnerable children and orphans in Malawi.
John and 11 others flew to Malawi for eight days, where they worked solidly to begin building homes. As part of Touchstone’s commitment to Habitat for Humanity, they will fund and build 24 houses over the next three years. A team from the business will visit each year to build the homes.
John Midgley, said, “It might sound like cliché, but these people really have nothing, and seeing the difference we were able to make even in that short space of time was incredible.
“The homes we’ve built will transform these children’s lives. They will be in the legal ownership of the children – so as well as having shelter now, their futures are safeguarded. It was an amazing experience for us as a team, and we can’t wait to go back next year.”
