Hamptons donates award-winning garden

Estate agent, Hamptons, has been awarded a Silver Gilt medal for Hamptons Mediterranean Garden at this year’s RHS Chelsea Flower Show. Following the show, planting from the garden will be donated to The Horticultural Classroom and Mona’s Garden.
Hamptons partnered with Garden Club London, and worked specifically with RHS first-timer Italian designer Filippo Dester, and four-time previous RHS Chelsea Flower Show Gold medal winner, Tony Woods, to create the Hamptons Mediterranean Garden.
The garden was inspired by the architecture and planting of the Mediterranean landscape of Filippo’s homeland and had a contemporary outdoor living space which included an outdoor kitchen with shady open-air dining, providing a space to relax, cook, and entertain family and friends. Drought-tolerant planting and water conservation were also pivotal components to the garden to ensure a sustainable space adaptable to climate change.
The plants and trees from the garden were donated after the show to The Horticultural Classroom, a scheme in Folkestone for hands-on learning with gardens to improve mental health and environmental awareness for young people.
