On 17th March the team at Ryder & Dutton in Halifax took part in a ‘Pedalling on St. Patrick’s Day’ bikeathon, an exercise bike challenge to raise money for Overgate Hospice in Elland, one of the local hospices they support.

They took turns at completing a shift on the exercise bike from 9am until 5pm without breaks, and set out to raise £250 via their Just Giving page and from raffle ticket sales to win an Easter Hamper, a day’s Aqua Zorbing and a bottle of Prosecco.

Thanks to the generosity of everyone that donated they exceeded their target of £250 and the donations currently stand at over £650.00.

Overgate Hospice was founded in 1981 and provides specialist palliative care for adults who suffer from progressive, life-limiting illnesses.

How the donations can help: 

• £20 would buy an inflatable ball for the patients to use in their physiotherapy session.
• £30 would buy a bird table to attract wildlife to the gardens.
