Countrywide Surveying Services (CSS) has handpicked 15 high fliers to join its leadership development programme.

CSS, which is one of the leading suppliers of valuation panel management services, has selected aspiring leaders across the business to take part in the 12-month training scheme.

The Leadership Development Programme (LDP) delivers a range of seminars and workshops tailored to supporting participants in their personal and professional development.

Leaders

In addition, the leaders of the future are given an opportunity to experience other areas of the business beyond their day-to-day role.

The structured classroom learning element of the programme is provided by Weston College in Weston-Super-Mare, Somerset, and covers a variety of topics including understanding leadership, building resilience and how to motivate a team.

Nurture

Rebecca Freeman, director of field operations at CSS, says: “The aim of the programme is to not only strengthen personal leadership skills, but to also nurture and encourage the potential of the participants.

This year’s group are highly talented and ambitious.”

“This year’s group are highly talented and ambitious, and we look forward to tracking their progression as they look to emulate the achievements of a number of our senior management team who also came through this incredibly important programme.”

A recent graduate of the programme, Luke Lawrence, a managing surveyor, adds: “I wanted to take part in the LDP to further develop my leadership skills and gain experience in different areas of the business.

I have developed massively, not just within my role but also in my personal life.”

“I feel that since I started the LDP a year ago, I have developed massively, not just within my role but also in my personal life,” he says.

“This is down to the training received in such areas as time management, conflict resolution and change.”

The CSS panel manages and undertakes valuations for the majority of UK mortgage lenders and employs over 700 staff, including more than 450 in-house RICS qualified valuers.
