Rising digital-savvy estate agency star acquires traditional rival

My Property Box has acquired Darlington-based Sandersons Lettings just months after buying another local rival.

A North East estate agency which says it has grown quickly by embracing technology has acquired an older and more traditional rival for an undisclosed sum.

Darlington-based My Property Box has acquired the portfolio and three staff from Sandersons Lettings, also based in the town. It claims a history reaching back 175 years but its branch will now close.

This is the second acquisition by My Property Box in a few months following its purchase of Holts Estate Agents in Stockton, which increased its lettings portfolio by 20%.

The MD of My Property Box, Ben Quaintrell, spent the first eight years of his career working for estate agency Sandersons under the watchful eye of its MD Gordon Catterick before quitting seven years ago to set up his company.

Tees Valley

My Property Box has been expanding fast within the Tees Valley by offering landlords and tenants a bespoke digital platform to complete both on-boarding and property management.

“I wish to reassure all those landlords and tenants that have transferred from Sandersons that they will continue to receive an exceptional service,” says Quaintrell.

“I’d also like to thank Gordon for providing me with my first job and equipping me with the necessary skills and knowledge of the lettings industry that enabled me to start my own business.

“This deal is special both on a personal and business level. It’s a privilege to incorporate the business which gave me my start in the profession into My Property Box.”
