Tributes have been paid to a well-known East of England estate agency founder who has died aged 44 years.

Lucy Thompson founded and ran Norwich-based Reality Estate Agents in 2009. But in 2018 she was diagnosed with breast cancer and initially given the all-clear, going on to marry Adam Thompson in Norwich Cathedral, reports the Norwich Evening News.

Her sister Heyley tells the newspaper that during Covid she started experiencing more symptoms and a new diagnosis in 2020 found that the cancer has spread to her liver.

She then gave up work soon afterward to focus on tackling the disease once more including fund-raising efforts for local charities that included a 24km run that raised £5,000.

Lucy died on June 19th and her funeral was held on 5th July.”

Her family said they were stunned by the number of people from her personal and professional life who attended the funeral, which was standing-room only.

A message on her agency’s Facebook page says: “We are saddened to inform you that after a long battle with cancer our founding director, beloved friend and wife to Adam, sadly passed away peacefully with her family around her.

“Lucy was a fighter and fought until the very end – she never gave up hope. She will be deeply missed by everyone that had the pleasure of meeting her – she was a true inspiration and will leave a hole in her hearts.”
