Emoov’s founder and former CEO Russell Quirk (pictured, above) has relaunched himself as a public relations consultant and property expert.
The move comes just a month after eMoov went into administration and is no surprise to those who know him. Quirk has said many times that eMoov’s early success as a brand was down to his relentless appearances on TV and radio and in newspapers, despite the company’s then limited funding.
He has now co-founded Properganda Public Relations with Emoov’s former in-house PR chief James Lockett.
“In 2014 whilst CEO of Emoov, I took PR in-house due to being constantly disappointed with the agencies that we’d hired,” he says.
“They simply couldn’t keep up with the pace that I wanted and were generally lacking in great creative ideas.
“James and I were a fantastic team for four years, creating, researching and delivering output that led to over 2,000 pieces of press and broadcast coverage for eMoov each year across the BBC, Sky, ITV, the Telegraph, FT, Daily Mail, Express, Evening Standard and Huffington Post and hundreds of trade publications.”
Quirk, who says his new PR outfit will concentrate on the property industry, sent out its first commentary yesterday, analysing the Halifax House Price Index, which shows that prices climbed by 2.2% in December.
“The UK market has been through the wringer of late but while Brexit uncertainty delivers blow after blow, the resilience of the nation’s bricks and mortar backbone continues to shine through and defy the naysayers,” he said.
