David Cox makes Rightmove
Propertymark’s former lettings chief David Cox is to join Rightmove as its new Legal & Compliance Director in a role specifically created for the industry figure.
Cox abruptly exited Propertymark in July in circumstances that have yet to be explained by the industry association and will now concentrate on offering Rightmove agents training and advice on legislative changes affecting the industry, although his extensive knowledge of Whitehall’s corridors of power will also come in useful.
He will also be fronting a new series of webinars at Rightmove, kicking off on November 10th and covering Covid, referral fees and evictions.
Cox has a varied property, political and legal background.
After a spell working for an MP he worked for a property union in Brussels and then joined what is now the National Residential Landlords Association in 2008 as a policy officer, later joining ARLA Propertymark in 2014.
David Cox said, “For most of my career I’ve been helping the property industry with compliance to ensure agents are always operating at their very best.
“At this critical juncture for the industry, joining Rightmove enables me to take forward this work and continue supporting the agents we serve.”
