New free-to-list property portal launches in UK

A free-to-list residential property portal has launched in the UK, part of an expansion programme that will see its service launched in 20 countries around the world including in China, India and UAE.

It currently lists 1,490 houses, 203 flats and two developments in the UK supplied by 45 mainly independent estate agents and developers.

The Isle of Dogs-based company is part of a wider global group established in 2014 that began business as a network of commercial property websites.

The business was established by Chris May (pictured, below) who, before launching the business, worked at a prime residential property finance house.

“After reading about the increasing costs of running an estate agency and having been an agent myself, I fully appreciate the burden of the rising costs of running a successful agency; this is why we decided to build a ‘free to list’ property portal that adds real value,” he says.

“I believe a lot of buyers and sellers do not understand the pressure that many agents are under, particularly when it comes to the marketing of their property.

“Most agents only get paid if they are successful which is why it is such a tough job, and I don’t think that a lot of the advertising portals out there appreciate this.

“At Residential People, we are completely free to list for agents, but with the help of our automated easy-to-use marketing tools, agents can drive more traffic to their listings, giving them the extra value and ammunition required to win new business and in turn helping to improve our agents’ profitability.”
