100s of property industry figures gather to raise £15,000+ for food bank charity
Paul Shamplina's latest Rumble with the Agents event saw ten boxers from the estate agency, insurance and auctions sectors fight it out to raise cash for charity Gratitude.

A crowd of some 270 landlords, agents, developers, suppliers and industry figures gathered on Thursday in London to raise in excess of £15,000 during the eighth Rumble with the Agents charity boxing event.
Organised by Landlord Action’s Paul Shamplina, this takes the total raised by the events so far to over £100,000.
This year it was for Borehamwood charity Gratitude, which helps over 1,000 people every week with food and other life essentials; funds raised at this year’s Rumble with the Agents will go towards a new refrigerated food delivery vehicle.
The packed room saw five bouts of boxing by pugilists with a variety of experience levels including several newbies, which on the night counted Hamilton Fraser boss Eddie Hooker’s son Matthew, who won his bout (main picture).
Also featured on the bill were, for the second year in a row, two female first-time boxers hailing from the ranks of the property industry.
High profile
Several high-profile members of the industry were in attendance including landlord Ranjan Bhattacharya and agent/proptech figure Kristjan Byfield as well as kick boxing champion George McKenzie and superstar DJ and music producer Slipmatt.
Sheila Carlisle, who founded Gratitude with husband John in 2013, told The Neg she was hugely grateful to the property industry for having dug so deep to help her charity, which recently launched an initiative to feed children during their holidays when they don’t receive school meals.
Shamplina (pictured, right) says landlords and property developers who possess portfolios collectively worth £3.5 billion attended the event, which raised money through ticket sales, a raffle and an auction.
“All the hard work has paid off and as well as raising money on the night, money is still coming in and Neg readers can chip in via the dedicated donations page,” says Shamplina.
“I’d like to say a big thank you to the suppliers and the people who came but especially the boxers who were brave enough to step in the ring – the boxing this year was a very high standard.
“As it the case every year the atmosphere was incredible and the event was sold out.”
