Dwelly accelerates expansion with Midlands estate agency purchase
Lettings software firm adds 850-property portfolio to growing book following acquisition of respected lettings firm.

Dwelly has expanded its national lettings portfolio with the acquisition of award-winning lettings agency HC Lettings, which operates as the dedicated lettings arm of Nottingham-based agency HoldenCopley.
The deal adds 850 fully managed properties to Dwelly’s expanding book and marks another step in the company’s strategy to consolidate the UK lettings sector through acquisitions.
HC Lettings was carved out of established estate agency HoldenCopley and has built a strong reputation across Nottingham and the wider East Midlands rental market over recent years. While HC Lettings joins Dwelly, HoldenCopley will continue to operate its sales division independently.
Existing team
As part of the acquisition, the existing management team at HC Lettings will remain in place. According to Dwelly, this will ensure continuity for both landlords and tenants and support the business through its next phase of growth.
Steven Holden, though, who was previously a director of HC Lettings, is not jumping ship and will instead focus on the HoldenCopley sales business.
He says: “We are extremely proud of the reputation HC Lettings has built in Nottingham. Partnering with Dwelly provides the best opportunity to accelerate the next chapter of growth, while preserving the values and standards that our clients have come to expect.”
The acquisition of HC Lettings is a fantastic addition to our growing portfolio and considerably strengthens our presence in the East Midlands.”
And Sam Humphreys (far right of picture), Head of M&A at Dwelly, said: “The acquisition of HC Lettings is a fantastic addition to our growing portfolio and considerably strengthens our presence in the East Midlands.
“We’re confident that through our implementation of technology-driven processes, we can dramatically improve the operational efficiency and capacity of the business, whilst reducing the friction that is found within the rental process.
“However, as is always the case, preserving the legacy and reputation that HC Lettings has formed remains paramount and respecting and retaining the company’s identity will always come first.”
The deal was brokered by Adam Walker, with Trust Audit overseeing compliance and Dean Wilson handling the legal requirements.
