Former Connells chief leaves business in sudden departure
Richard Twigg had been with the UK's largest agency for 30 years, serving as interim Chief Executive for a year.
Long-serving former Connells Chief Executive Richard Twigg (pictured) has left the business in a sudden departure this week.
Twigg had been with Britain’s largest agency for 30 years, and was most recently Group Finance and Commercial Director.
He served a 12-month stint as interim Chief Executive in 2023-24 when long-time boss David Livesey stepped down, and before current Chief Executive Helen Charlesworth was appointed.
Unclear
It is unclear why Twigg has departed so suddenly after such a long time with the group. His LinkedIn profile still lists him as being in post.
Earlier this year, Connells announced group revenue increased by 9% to £1.16 billion, with profit before tax increasing 19% to £73.1 million in 2025.
Significant contribution

Connells supported 86,000 property exchanges last year, representing around one in 10 of all home sales in Britain. It has 1,200 branches operating under more than 80 estate agency brands.
