Purplebricks headhunts TalkTalk chief to drive its next phase
The controversial online agency, acquired by rival Strike last year, has made Nick Genga its new Chief Revenue Officer.
Purplebricks has appointed a high-profile business leader as its new CRO.
Nick Gunga (main picture) joins Purplebricks from TalkTalk, where he worked his way up the ranks to become MD during 19 years with the company.
Numerous roles
He held numerous roles at the company, most recently MD of wholesale services, and he helped grow the company from 200,000 customers to over 3.5 million.
He was also fundamental to its decision to provide free broadband.
Purplebricks. which was acquired by Strike a year ago, has launched a new pricing model and its own mortgage offer.
Purplebricks prioritises customers, and this is a sentiment I have held throughout my career.”
Gunga says: “Purplebricks prioritises customers, and this is a sentiment I have held throughout my career.
“Its aim is to democratise buying and selling homes by making it more affordable and accessible,” he says.
“The notion of democratisation has been pivotal in my time at TalkTalk as we believed broadband is a right not a privilege and should be accessible to all.
“I’m looking forward to working at a company with a shared vision and an amazing proposition to keep people at the heart of what we do and put them first.”
Invaluable
Sam Mitchell, CEO of Purplebricks, says: “We are thrilled to welcome Nick to Purplebricks, where he’ll bring a breadth of knowledge from his long-standing career in the telecoms industry.
“His nearly two-decade track record at TalkTalk shows his ability to steer a business and foster customer growth. This will prove invaluable as Purplebricks continues to expand and maintain a customer-centric approach to home ownership.”
Once again the ‘get rich quick’ chancers fill their boardroom with dynamic whizz kids from other fields with no experience of property whatsoever! They never learn!
Interesting TalkTalk was acquired by Toscafund a few years ago … who are of course behind nurtur.tech. In other news July will mark one year in for Purple Bricks II, profit or loss? What are the scores on the doors going to be for CEO Sam Mitchell.
