Respected estate agent turned new homes expert dies aged 61
Steve Blight started his career as an estate agent before going on to launch BPC Group nearly 30 years ago.

A highly respected former estate agent who founded his own property company has passed away at the age of 61.
Steve Blight (main picture) died after a lifetime dedicated to his beloved family, and the running of BPC Group, which he started in 1996.
Over almost 30 years as Managing Director, Steve expanded BPC Group into a brand name in the new homes and land buying sectors.
‘Blighty’
Born in March 1964 and educated at Broxbourne School, Blight, known affectionately as ‘Blighty’ by his friends and family, entered the property industry working for Adam Kennedy estate agents in Enfield, North London, before going on to establish BPC Group in Hertfordshire.
Over time the business expanded, offering a comprehensive range of services to housebuilders including land buying, new homes sales, recruitment and digital marketing.
Prestigious
BPC Group gained a prestigious portfolio of clients including Berkeley Homes, Weston Homes, Crest Nicholson, St. James, Taylor Wimpey and Fairview New Homes amongst others.
Many clients felt that ‘Blighty’ and his team were an integral, almost ‘in-house’ part of their business.
In 2021 the group celebrated 25 years of trading, and it was a matter of deep pride for Blight that his son Harry joined the business, and worked for the group as a land manager.
Impressive character
An impressive character who was full of fun and life, ‘Blighty’ enjoyed golf, holidays with family and friends, as well as attending charity and property industry networking events.
He was also passionate about developing young talent in the property industry. He is survived by his wife Emma, son Harry, as well as step-children Daisy, George and James.
