Britain’s poshest postcodes are revealed
Britain’s poshest postcodes where homes change hands for more than £1million, have been revealed.

Britain’s poshest postcodes where homes change hands for more than £1million, have been revealed.
The findings analysed average sold prices in England and Wales, and how many homes changed hands for at least seven figures.
The number one slot goes to Cobham in Surrey, where nearly half of the homes sold for more than £1million.
The study also considered household incomes in the neighbourhoods, the number of private schools within 10 miles and Michelin-listed restaurants nearby.
Each housing market received a score out of 100, where a higher number was defined as a more prestigious postcode.
High house prices
The typical property in Cobham changes hands for around £1.3million, and most people residing in the area have an annual salary of more than £100,000 a year.
Families are well catered for in the wealthy enclave, with 84 private schools within 10 miles.
It is followed by Esher and Virgina Water, also both in Surrey, with a typical property sale registering at just above £1milion, and £1.53million respectively. Esher also boasts a Michelin-starred restaurant.
Surrey’s Thames Ditton and Buckinghamshire’s Beaconsfield complete the top five most elite postcodes in Britain.
Most of the homes in Thames Ditton are sold for £867,000, while nearly half in Beaconsfield sell for at least £1million. Thames Ditton is boosted by some of the latest private education networks, with nearly 170 elite schools.
It’s no surprise that Surrey is topping the ranking. It has always been the first choice for wealthy buyers leaving London.”
A spokesperson at Trade Door Handles – which carried out the research -, says: “It’s no surprise that Surrey is topping the ranking. It has always been the first choice for wealthy buyers leaving London.
“You’re 30 to 40 minutes from the City by train, and you still get everything the capital offers.
“The difference is what your money actually buys. In London, £1.5million gets you a two-bedroom flat in a decent postcode.
“In places like Cobham or Virginia Water, the same budget gets you a five- or six-bedroom house with a garden and a driveway.”
