Bumper year continues for Clive Emson

Clive Emson’s third sale of the year launches on May 3 with a record number of lots for 2021. It follows a successful March auction, which raised more than £17m – the busiest since this time last year – including the sale of a dilapidated Grade-II listed residence near Maidstone, Kent, for 3.5 times its £150,000 guide price.

This month, 135 lots are listed, including a large private residence in Rochester dating back to 1864, a pair of detached homes on a 1.3 acre site near Romsey and a number of coastal and residential properties ranging in guide price from £270,00 to over £1.3m.
There are also a number of residential developments opportunities on offer such three derelict cottages in Cambridgeshire.

James Emson, Managing Director, said, “The national residential property market has soared in recent months, boosted by the Treasury’s stamp duty holiday to the end of June, and this has been reflected in our auctions. “More than 80 per cent of properties sold above our clients’ reserve prices during the pandemic.
