Major coup for Viewber as Connells signs up to viewings safety app
Staff's personal safety at the forefront of decision, says announcement from co-founder Ed Mead.
Connells Group has given a ringing endorsement to Viewber’s free ViewBuddy app – the first major estate agency chain to do so.
Agents on lone viewings can use the ViewBuddy app to alert colleagues when they need help.
Users enter the viewing length time and names of people viewing property in the app and their ‘buddies’ – colleagues or friends – get a text telling them their friend is going to an appointment with a ‘what three words’ location.
Agents then get an alert if the time limit has expired and a message to ring their buddy if they haven’t had confirmation that the appointment has finished.
The app will also alert all buddies to contact the emergency services if the agent enters the PIN backwards.
Ed Mead, co-founder of Viewber, (pictured) says: “We are pleased Connells Group has recognised the benefits ViewBuddy can bring in addition to its existing arrangements. Anything that helps keep staff safe is to the credit of employers and Connells Group remains an industry leader.”
SUZY LAMPLUGH
The app is free for the entire industry and Mead adds: “It gives people working alone the chance to feel safe. It’s been nearly years since Suzy Lamplugh disappeared and since then so little has been done to make agents feel safer.”
Jason Hill, Connells Group head of fire, health and safety, adds: “The personal safety of our colleagues is of paramount importance to us and we’re encouraging them all to download ViewBuddy. The app provides another tool in our armoury to help keep our colleagues safe when on appointments, and perfectly supplements our existing lone worker and safe appointment procedures.”
ViewBuddy is available free in the App and Google Play Stores.
