Connells reveals huge shakeup of its top leadership roles
Following the departure of David Plumtree last year, the senior quartet who worked with him has now been replaced en masse, the company says.
Connells has announced a major shakeup of its senior leadership team, many of whom are company ‘originals’ having served with the estate agency for decades.
Those exiting the business are Ian Fry (main image), Giles Hart, Anthony Glasgow, and Stuart Dare, who have each made significant contributions to the company’s success, helping shape “Connells Group into the UK’s leading estate agency and mortgage services provider”, the company statement says.
The announcement follows the exit of David Plumtree in June last year.
Fry, who joined Connells Group in 1996, served as Chief Executive of Estate Agency. His journey through Sequence and Connells Group is a “testament to his talent, leadership, and unwavering commitment”, says Connells. He replaced Plumtree as boss of estate agency in June.
“He has been fundamental in cementing Connells’ position as the UK’s leading estate agency, driving both stability and performance throughout his time with the Group. Ian’s expertise and vision have been integral to the Groups success.”

Hart, National Managing Director of Estate Agency, has been a respected figure in the industry for over 25 years. His knowledge and industry expertise have been essential to Connells Group’s growth and development, and his leadership has had a profound impact on the business, the firms says.

Glasgow, Chief Operating Officer of Estate Agency, has been with Connells Group for over 36 years and before that, Royal Sun Alliance. His leadership in key roles such as IT Director and Chief Information Officer have been “instrumental in ensuring the Groups business has continued to grow. Anthony’s vision has played a critical role in the ongoing success of Connells Group, and his contributions will continue to benefit the business for years to come”.

Dare, Managing Director of Mortgage Services, has played an important role in developing the Groups mortgage division over the last 20 years. His “leadership, commitment and in-depth knowledge of the mortgage market have been a key ingredient to the success of this critical part of the business”.

Helen Charlesworth, CEO of Connells Group, says: “Ian, Giles, Anthony, and Stuart have all made exceptional contributions to Connells Group, and their leadership has played a pivotal role in shaping our business into the successful business it is today. I am grateful for their years of dedication, hard work, and commitment and wish them the very best in their future endeavours.
