An estate agency in Leeds has thought up a novel way to get locals looking out for their signboards in and around the city.

HOP, which in 2020 re-branded after being known as Let Leeds since 2009, currently has 250 boards across the city among which include 20 ‘golden boards’. HOP standards for ‘Home of Property’.

Members of the public are being urged to take a selfie of themselves next to the board along with the hashtag #HOPGoldenBoard and the name of the agency in a post on Facebook or Instagram.

This will enter them into a competition to win a £2,000 holiday but as well as the promotion, HOP is also planning 400 trees in Yorkshire to its bit for the planet, in partnership with GreenTheUK.

People can enter the competition multiple times, if they can find the other golden boards around Leeds.

CIELALuke Gidney (pictured), MD at HOP, says: “We’re very excited to launch this competition with 20 of our special golden boards now sitting outside various HOP properties throughout Leeds, waiting to be discovered and photographed.

“We’ll also be posting clues about their locations on Facebook and Instagram over the coming weeks, so we’d advise anyone who wants to play to follow our social media pages. Participants can enter the competition each time they find a board, so anyone who finds them all will have 20 chances of winning.

Joining forces

“Joining forces with GreenTheUK is also a great opportunity for competition entrants, home sellers, landlords and ourselves, to support our local community with a wonderful green initiative.”

HOP provides both residential sales and lettings services, as well as property management, investment sales, refurbishments, property sourcing and block management, across offices in Leeds city centre, Horsforth and Pudsey.

The initiative is another example of the increasing use of signboards and QR codes and other digital integration techniques by agents including, most recently, OnTheMarket’s hook up with Kremer.
