Estate agent turns branch window into Queen Elizabeth II tribute
Firm in West Midlands tells The Neg why it changed branch window display to show pictures of Queen Elizabeth II after her sad death last week.

An estate agent in the market town of Halesowen in the West Midlands replaced property pictures in its windows with 28 amazing pictures of Queen Elizabeth II after her sad death last week.
Shoppers passing by the LexAllan Grove offices on Hagley Road have even been stopping and calling inside to express their delight with some even asking for copies so they can display them in their own home.
Manager Dawn Hughes (main picture, right with employee Lisa Saunders) told The Neg that she came up with the touching tribute as they had done exactly the same during the festivities of the Platinum Jubilee to celebrate the Queen’s time on the throne.
“I’ll have been in estate agency for 41 years come October and the Queen has always been there. We were all touched by the passing of our Queen and when we came into work wearing black we made a joint decision to express our mourning for her by displaying the pictures we had used during the Jubilee celebrations.
She really was loved by all and led the country for over 70 years right up to the end. She led by example and showed a total commitment in everything that she did.”
“Her passing is such a major event. We decided to clear our windows of adverts during her Platinum Jubilee and were united in doing it again when we got the news of her passing. Nothing like this has happened in our lifetime and nothing ever will.”
Hughes won’t be making the trip to London to see Queen Elizabeth II lying in state but will be watching the state funeral as events unfold on Monday.
The display of photographs, including the latest taken of her late Majesty at Balmoral will remain on show until her funeral has taken place.

We’ve done the same, people love it. We’ve switched our backlit LED lights off as a mark of respect too.
