The former head of country homes sales at Savills has set up his own agency aimed at the very top end of the market.

Lindsay Cuthill (main picture) has unveiled a new boutique agency, Blue Book, which will sell homes nationwide, but will focus on the market in the South, especially South West London

He left Savills at the end of 2022 after 32 years with the company, where he led the country house department since 2012.

Focusing on ‘best-in-class’, high quality homes, Blue Book aims to become “a breath of fresh air” in a market that has been dominated by a small handful of large corporations.

The new agency already has over £80m worth of listings already secured, and Blue Book is going to select only the most beautiful, historic country and London properties.

Heavy hitters

Cuthill says: “Blue Book has been born out of a desire to create a new type of agency – one that in time brings together the weight and credibility of a team of industry heavy hitters, but with a more personal and bespoke approach to service.

“Selling a beautiful family home is a deeply personal experience, and I think that should be reflected at every step of the sales process.

I look forward to growing the team with some stellar appointments.”

He says he wants to create a personal relationship with each client.

“I am excited to hit the ground running and look forward to growing the team with some stellar appointments to be announced in the coming months ahead.”

Cuthill is not the only former Savills senior to set up a rival agency. In 2021 two former employees set up a hybrid rival.
