Housebuilder offers to pay private school fees for buyers
Berkeley Group will cover tuition costs worth more than £40,000 for anyone signing up to purchase a new home.

A major developer has offered to pay private school fees for property buyers in London in an attempt to kickstart sluggish sales.
Berkeley Group will cover tuition costs worth more than £40,000 for up to two years, it has been revealed.
Offer made
The housebuilder has made the offer to buyers at its Trent Park development in Enfield, North London, the Daily Telegraph reports.
The fees at a local preparatory and senior school range from £4,500 to £5,800 per term for children, making the offer worth up to £41,750, including VAT.
Properties at Trent Park start at around £760,000 for a one-bed up to £1.8million for a five-bedroom house.
London prices
Demand for homes in the London market has fallen sharply. Last week, Land Registry figures showed the Capital was the English region reporting the lowest annual inflation, with prices down 3.7%.
Other buyers have been offered a range of perks to entice them – including council tax or service charges being covered, as well as part-exchange schemes -, according to new-build proptech platform Ldn.one.
Prices slashed
Last month, it was revealed major housebuilder Vistry had sliced more than £100,000 off some of its house prices to deal with struggling sales figures.
Vistry cut 17% from some of its asking amounts as it was forced to raise cash quickly.
And earlier this month, figures released by the London Assembly showed that against an estimated annual need of 45,500 homes, only 8,184 were actually built in 2024 to 2025.
At the same time, more than 43,000 affordable homes that had been started were still awaiting completion.
