LRG ‘not ready’ to confirm details of latest estate agency acquisition

Leaders Romans Group (LRG) is believed to be close to finalising a deal to buy Isle of Wight independent estate agent Hose Rhodes Dickson.

ISLE OF WIGHT ROMANS

Leaders Romans Group (LRG) is believed to be close to finalising a deal to buy Isle of Wight independent estate agent Hose Rhodes Dickson (HRD).

The eight-office group is the largest on the island and launched 32 years ago when Jeff Hose and Mark Rhodes founded Hose Rhodes in Ventnor. Richard Dickson joined the team in 1992 and the HRD of today was born.

Staff at HRD where told about the sale last Thursday and news ‘spread like wildfire’ through the small island community before any contracts had been signed, leading to a slew of stories being leaked to local media.

The Negotiator understands that contrary to some reports, all staff and directors will be remaining at HRD should a sale go through.

One person familiar with the situation adds: “I think the speed at how this leaked out really took Leaders Romans Group by surprise. But this is a small island and full of gossips and that’s how false rumours start – it’s difficult to keep anything under wraps.”

Statement

A spokesperson for Leaders Romans Group (LRG) says: “We have ambitious plans for growth here at LRG and core to that is our acquisitions strategy.

“As such, we welcome discussion with a range of businesses and brands in the property sector that express an interest in working with us.

At this stage we are unable to confirm any acquisition as these matters are subject to the exchange of contracts.”

“We remain transparent in our operations and are happy to share news of any future acquisitions when they complete.”

HRD currently operates in Newport, Cowes, East Cowes, Ryde, Bembridge, Shanklin, Ventnor and Freshwater.
