Major SE estate agency reveals New Homes expansion plans
New build sales at Michael Jones Estate agents topping £112m will allow agency to expand into new territories.
The specialist land and new homes department at Sussex-based estate agent Michael Jones is to extend its geographical footprint into untapped in-demand locations after posting a year-on-year increase in turnover of more than 60%.
New home sales at the agency topped £112 million last year – a rise of more than 6% – after the COVID pandemic led to a spike in demand, especially for family dwellings in more rural areas.
The agency said around two-in-three of its sales in the past year featured these properties and in the midst of a cost of living crisis demand has also been buoyed by house buyers wanting modern properties that are cheaper to run.
EXPANSION
To cash in on the trend the land and new homes department will be extended to cover the entire Michael Jones network of 10 offices in East and West Sussex linking in with the residential sales team at each branch.
These include Worthing, Lancing, Findon, Goring, Ferring, Rustington, Hove, Kemptown, Preston Park and Brighton Marina.
Max Harbron (main picture), the agency’s associate director of new homes, says: “Our development consultancy work varies from advising clients on the delivery of large-scale developments, through valuations of housebuilder portfolios for acquisition and disposals
We now have a strong launch pad for taking our services to housebuilders in new territories.”
“Developers can draw upon our sales and marketing expertise in this sector, as well as take advantage of an aligned and connected branch network, which is set to expand further in 2022 and beyond.”
The past 12 months have seen the land and new homes team sell some 160 properties with the price of a new home increasing between 15 and 20% over the last year.
