New service ‘to topple Rightmove and estate agents in one go’

Jersey-based duo behind Hiizzy.com say their platform will enable vendors to sell their homes without the need for agents or portals, all for £395.

Two businessmen based in Jersey have launched an AI-enabled property buying and selling platform which, they claim, will displace both Rightmove and the entire estate agency sector if it takes off.

Lewis Buckley and Allan Wood (main image, left to right) have launched Hiizzy.com, which is similar in many ways to Purplebricks or Strike but so far has not been allowed to upload its customers’ properties to any of the big UK portals.

The duo, who do not appear to have any experience within the property sales sector, have said in an online comment that their platform is “here to empower the private seller and buyer because they are not allowed on Rightmove or other similar platforms.

“This industry has disempowered the individual making it almost impossible to sell privately.

“Hiizzy is here to change all of that and with a new marketplace at an affordable realistic price.”

It is running a promotion to sell homes for nothing for a limited time, but the business model is based on a fee of £395 saving “thousands of pounds” compared to a traditional estate agency commission of 2%.

The firm’s website makes it clear that selling homes requires just photographs, listings copy written with the helps of AI and some local newspaper advertising, networking and social media promotion, with customers left to manage viewings.

Other services

The Hiizzy website makes no mention of the other services agents’ include in their fees including managing offers, sales progression, liaising with conveyancers and lenders, but makes it clear properties will not be appearing on Rightmove, Zoopla or OnTheMarket.

Nevertheless, the firm’s services have gained some national recognition after The Sun ran a lengthy article over the weekend about one couple who have successfully used Hiizzy to sell their £650,000 house in Stanmore, London.

Hiizzy is also donating 10% of its turnover to a homelessness charity in London.
