Outgoing Rightmove chief replaced by blue-blooded staffer
After four years at Rightmove, Chief Financial Officer Alison Dolan is to be replaced by Ruaridh Hook, who is often seen in the society pages of upmarket magazines.
Rightmove has confirmed the replacement for its outgoing Chief Financial Officer Alison Dolan (main pic) who is to step down from her post on 15 September and be replaced by Ruaridh Hook (pictured left).
Dolan has been with Rightmove for four years having joined them from News UK in September 2020.
In May it was revealed that she had been poached by Marks & Spencer and after a handover period at Rightmove, she will begin work there as their new CFO.
To tempt her, M&S would have needed to offer a substantial package as according to Rightmove’s annual report, she was their highest earner.
£1.4m pay
Last year, Dolan earned a total of £1,427,550. That included a basic salary of £450,000 and three different performance-related bonuses including a £623,712 annual bonus, and a £325,602 long-term incentive bonus.
That was nearly £200,000 more than the next biggest earner CEO Johan Svanstrom, who received a total of £1,260,226 in 2023.
Ruaridh Hook, who is a member of London’s ‘Tatler set’ and has featured in the magazine, is taking over her position is an internal promotion. He joined Rightmove in 2016 and is their Head of Commercial Finance and Financial Planning & Analysis.
He is often seen at society weddings after marrying Charlotte Rose FitzRoy who is a granddaughter of the 12th Marquess of Lothian and 11th Duke of Grafton.
I am delighted with the appointment of Ruaridh.”
Svanstrom says: “I am delighted with the appointment of Ruaridh as CFO of Rightmove. Ruaridh has tremendous knowledge of our business, commercial model and the market, and of course is already well known to so many team members across our organisation and outside it.
“He has worked closely alongside Alison and me in recent years, and was instrumental in developing our strategy, which we outlined last year. I have thoroughly enjoyed working with Ruaridh since I joined, and we look forward to delivering our strategy together with the full leadership team, and building on Rightmove’s strong position and partnership model together.”
