Rightmove launches tenant ‘checklist’ service for letting agents

The portal says the Renter Checklist will make the process from finding a property to picking up the keys easier for tenants and letting agents.

Rightmove is extending its offer to letting agents and tenants with a new ‘checklist’ for prospective renters.

In another example of the portal reaching well beyond just listings, the Renter Checklist “guides tenants through each part of the rental process, from finding a property to picking up the keys”.

Rightmove says the launch of the checklist is part of its “mission” to make renting easier for agents and tenants,

Simpler

It’s doing this by “digitising and streamlining the often-complex processes involved in renting a home”.

Agents who use Rightmove’s ‘Lead to Keys’ suite will be able to provide an even simpler process for their prospective tenants, it says.

And tenants moving into a home where the letting agent is using Rightmove’s Tenant Referencing Service will automatically see the current status of their reference and any next steps in the Renter Checklist.

Tenants moving into a home where the agent uses Rightmove’s tenancy progression software, Tenancy Manager, on Rightmove Plus, will have every stage of their tenancy application updated in the Renter Checklist automatically.

Tarah Lourens, Chief Technology and Operations Officer at Rightmove, says: “Through the Lead to Keys product suite, we’ve been helping to speed up and reduce admin time for letting agents, enabling them to advertise their properties and hand over the keys to tenants through one integrated system.

“Our Renter Checklist is the first step in helping to speed up the process directly for tenants too, making it much easier for them to see the actions they need to complete and where they’re at in the process, reducing friction and frustration in what has previously been a complex and multi-layered journey.”
