Rightmove to make house hunting more of a family affair
Tarah Lourens says that by popular demand the portal has introduced a new function that allows family and friends to share property search results with each other.

Rightmove has unveiled a new function that enables property hunters to share search list results with friends and family.
The portal says home movers can collaborate by sending search results to each other, making the whole process more social and interactive.
Most requested
This feature was one of the most requested by Rightmove users and by sharing lists, they can work together and react to each other’s suggestions to find their next home.
The aim is also to encourage home-movers to be on the same page about properties at the point of booking a viewing, the portal says.
Available to buyers and renters now within My Rightmove, the launch of ‘Shared Lists’ is part of its “bigger mission to enable seamless collaboration between home-movers on its platform, assisting home-hunters with each stage of the moving process”.
On the same page
Tarah Lourens, Chief Technology and Operations Officer at Rightmove (main picture), says: “It’s really exciting to bring Rightmove users this much-requested feature so people can seamlessly see shared property lists in one place.
“With the majority of home-movers looking to live with at least one other person, our new tool is designed to make the process of searching for a home more collaborative and interactive, and make sure home-movers are on the same page before they get in touch with agents.”
Valuation tool
Last month, Rightmove announced trials of its valuation tool had been successful and it would be a permanent feature.
Online Agent Valuation, which was first unveiled in August, is designed to provide a new way for agents to connect with potential buyers.
