Connells Group says finding a replacement for its former Group Chief Executive David Livesey is taking longer than expected.

Livesey leaves big shoes to fill, having been credited with the firms extraordinary run of expansion including most famously the acquisition of former rival Countrywide two years ago.

The Group now has 1,200 branches, 14,000 staff, and a turnover of £1bn per annum and is acknowledged as the market leader in UK estate agency sector.

A spokesperson says that while Livesey has begun his ‘much deserved retirement after 35 years at the company and leaves with the best wishes of everyone’ its search for a replacement is ongoing.
