Digital logbook ‘first’ for conveyancing property search sector
Deal between provider Chimni and HW Conveyancing Searches follows 12 months spent quizzing clients over their appetite for property logbooks.
A leading property searches company has claimed an industry ‘first’ after signing up a leading property search firm to include include digital property logbooks into its customer proposition.
Portsmouth-based firm HW Conveyancing Searches has worked with property logbook company Chimni to create a service that enables conveyancers to order logbooks for their homebuying clients that are created alongside the search outputs.
The firm’s conveyancer clients can order logbooks independently of the searches they instruct through the HW portal, or as part of a co-ordinated offer with searches and logbook bought as a package and integrated together.
Search results are pre-loaded in the system and with the data necessary for the logbooks to accompany their clients’ new homes.
The conveyancers are then able to manage the logbook through the final stages of purchase, uploading documents from their own CRM to complete the handover pack for buyers.
Natural

Andrew Prismall of HW Conveyancing Searches, says: “This is a natural evolution of our service. Our clients already look to us for advice on innovation around data services and this is truly a step forward for the market.
“We ran a series of client workshops over the last 12 months with Chimni to gauge the appetite for the proposition and it was universally welcomed.”
Nigel Walley (main image) for Chimni says: “This is a great outcome and builds on the work we have already been doing with our conveyancing clients.
“For us getting into the process as early as possible and getting access to as much data and documentation as possible is key. This has the potential to begin reshaping the conveyancing services market.”
