Property industry networking app turns to crowdfunding for more cash
The Eighth Door app launched last year and is now looking to expand with the help of Seedrs platform.
An smartphone app-based club for estate agents and other property industry professionals is turning to crowdfunding platform Seedrs to raise more cash.
The Eighth Door is looking for its second round of funding from the platform after soft launching in 2019 but officially launching in May last year.
In April it completed its initial round after Alan Waxman of property development company Landmass backed the app, which to date has 200 agents using its platform.
The Eighth Door app brings together a variety of different players within the property industry including developers, estate agents, interior designers, architects, house builders and lawyers – pretty much anyone involved in making money from property.
Its developers have recently launched a new service that enables service and product providers to pitch to potential clients in the UK and beyond – a kind of TikTok meet Dragon’s Den – virtually.
“We have listened to our users’ feedback on what they want from the app to increase their business potential and we are incredibly excited to bring these innovative new features, which will exceed their expectations,” says founder Andre Mansoori-Dara (pictured).
“We have taken our ethos of helping users discover and reach out to the property industry and close deals, catapulting our app to the next level.
“Our main aim is to empower our community to pitch, engage, meet and ultimately strike deals. But it’s not just about sales.
“We also provide support for users with their requirements and opportunities eg investors looking for their next purchase; developers searching for new sites; sourcing construction companies; and connecting with architects and interior designers.”
