Rightmove gathers Government experts for renting reforms webinar
Portal wants agents to hear how new Renters' Rights Act will impact them from the horse's mouth.

Rightmove has gathered some of the Government’s behind-the-scenes experts on the Renters’ Rights Act to take questions from letting agents during a webinar to take place on Thursday.
Those with access to the portal’s agent Hub can login to watch the webinar between 10am and 11am.
The experts include Stephanie Kvam, Deputy Director for PRS Housing Redress and Regulatory Systems at MHCLG (main image, left), and Ross McInnes, Deputy Director for PRS Strategy, Security and Standards at MHCLG, (right) who will break down the Act and answer the most pressing questions on compliance and timelines.
Kvam leads the team within MHCLG looking to improve tenants’ experiences in the private rented sector and brings over 20 years’ housing policy expertise, while McInnes oversees delivery of the new tenancy system and Decent Homes Standard.

Hot topics to be explored included the roll-out timelines and how agents can prepare; the impact of periodic tenancies on portfolios; grounds for possession and the new Landlord Ombudsman Scheme and how to avoid Rent Repayment Orders, which are set to become much more expensive for landlords after May 1st.
