Rightmove to help estate agents prepare for RRB
Portal is launching a ‘bumper autumn’ of training and educational content for estate agents on the Rightmove Hub, focussing on the Renters’ Rights Bill.

Rightmove has put together a series of webinars and training courses, backed by insights from landlords, that will help estate agents ‘cut through’ the complexity of the Renters’ Rights Bill and give them clarity over its details.
Two-part Webinar
It will kick off on 16th September with a webinar featuring leading UK property lawyer David Smith and Theresa Wallace (main picture), Compliance Director at Savills. They will cover everything from the end of no-fault evictions to new rules around pets and marketing. Wallace will also share insight into how Savills is preparing, educating staff and preparing for landlord queries.

The second of this two-part series features Susie Crolla, Managing Director of The Guild of Letting & Management and David Gibb, Operations Director at Dwello Properties and will take place on 24th September.

They will outline the opportunities the Bill presents for winning more landlords, strengthening trust and converting more clients to full management. Crolla will also cover practical process changes that agents can implement, while Gibb will share how the Scottish market has adapted since no-fault evictions were removed and periodic tenancies became mandatory in 2017.
This panel brings together some of the lettings industry’s leading experts.”

Christian Balshen, Rightmove’s Director of Agency Partnerships, says: “This panel brings together some of the lettings industry’s leading experts, reflecting the scale of change the Renters’ Rights Bill is set to bring for letting agents. I’d strongly encourage our partners to attend if they want to understand how to prepare in a way that creates the greatest positive impact for their business.”
Once the Bill receives Royal Assent and becomes law, Rightmove will then launch a new training course that will help agents stay compliant with bitesize videos summarising all the key changes in RRB and how they will affect lettings practices, as well as how to communicate these changes to landlords and tenants.
Rightmove says much of the content has been driven by recent landlord insights that have revealed around a third are considering quitting the sector, 68% are worried about tax and only 43% are fully aware of RRB, although 92% say staying compliant with legislation is a top priority.
