Estate agency launches ‘game changer’ guarantor service for struggling tenants
Petermans, which recently launched an initiative to help social housing providers find homes for their tenants, says its partnership with RentGuarantor will transform the London market.
An estate agency in London has revealed an unusual initiative to help tenants struggling to rent within the private sector find a guarantor for their rental payments.
Petermans, which recently launched a dedicated operation to help social housing providers find homes for their tenants among its landlord client base, says its new partnership with RentGuarantor will “transform housing in London”.
Ben Moser (main image, left), the Director of The Petermans Housing Initiative, tells The Neg he has long recognised the need to bring the social and affordable housing sectors together with the private rental market to create a more inclusive and sustainable housing system.
“The housing crisis in London is characterised by a severe shortage of affordable homes, escalating rental prices, and increasing homelessness,” he says.
“The demand for social and affordable housing far outstrips supply, leaving many vulnerable individuals and families without a secure place to live.”
Partnerships
The Petermans Housing Initiative has been working hard to develop partnerships with key stakeholders in the housing industry “designed to leverage the strengths of each organisation involved, creating synergies that benefit both tenants and landlords”, he adds.
RentGuarantor director Michael Scrase-Hollamby (main image, right), whose firm is a major player in the guarantor market, says: “By providing a professional guarantor service, RentGuarantor removes one of the major obstacles that prevent tenants from accessing the private rental market.
“We offer landlords the peace of mind that rental obligations will be met if the tenant becomes unable to make their rental payments due to unforeseen circumstances.”
