Renters reform definitely goes ahead with more help for tenants, Gove promises
Michael Gove says PRS changes will become law, and tenants will be given extra financial support.

Housing secretary Michael Gove has suggested renters will be given extra help as he confirmed PRS reforms are going ahead.
He returned to his job, which includes ‘levelling up’, last week under new Prime Minister Rishi Sunak after leaving briefly under former PM Liz Truss.
Before leaving post in July, he launched the Renters Reform White Paper (main picture), a radical shake-up of the PRS, which includes abolition of Section 21 ‘no fault evictions’ and an end to blanket bans on benefit tenants.
Gove suggested in a BBC Interview on the ‘Sunday with Laura Kuenssberg’ show, that renters will be among the groups targeted for extra support in the Autumn Statement on 17 November.
“We are looking at a range of options to help them [social and private renters],” he said.
He suggested it could be through Universal Credit benefit payments, through tax cuts or via direct support.
‘Noxious landlords’
When he was pressed, Gove also confirmed that measures to deal with “a small but noxious minority of landlords who are not treating their tenants properly”, would go ahead.
“We will bring forward that legislation to deal effectively with them,” he insisted.
A target to build 300,000 homes each year in “the right places” was still in place, Gove confirmed.
“We need to build more homes for people to own, more homes for social rent…but we need to be straight with people, the cost of materials…and a very tight labour market…means the capacity to build those homes at the rate we want is constrained,” he said.

I most certainly agree to abolish no fault section 21 me and my family was evicted for no reason we always payed our rent and never missed, the owner said he wanted to sell due to being too old that was a lie he still rents his properties he had a estates agents in failsworth called Medlock estates they was served with a abatement notice for disrepairs we nearly died gas leak they never had a galsl safety certificate and because we complained we was evicted left on the streets out of pocket with all the repairs we payed for out of our own pocket the owner should be ashamed, total conman we had the backing of environmental health and gas safety, and Oldham council helped us financially to rent another private home which my new landlord is a saint he salved us from the streets and has supported us 100%, Beware of rogue landlords, we need more protection from rogue estate agents that rent out properties without the required legal certificates, people’s lives are at stake
